Vision workshops

Laura Lowther, Vision for Volunteering Lead, presenting at a Vision for Volunteering workshop

During June and July 2023, the Vision for Volunteering team held a series of local workshops to bring to Vision for Volunteering to more communities, and inspire people to bring the Vision to life.

A total of 143 community members, volunteers and charity employees from 111 different organisations attended a workshop across five events, which were a mixture of online and in-person events across the country, including London, Nottingham and Newcastle.

We spoke to people all across the country across our workshop series!

Through these events, we wanted to find out what inspired people about the Vision for Volunteering, and what they needed to bring it to life in their communities. Thank you to everyone who attended and gave us feedback - this will help us plan out the next suite of events after the summer.

What attendees valued most about the workshops was the opportunity to share ideas and network with others who are facing similar issues. Many individuals made commitments for future action to continue spreading the word about the Vision for Volunteering, and talking to their communities about how best to bring it to life. The message loud and clear was that the Vision for Volunteering themes are inspiring conversations, change and critical thought about how we approach volunteering in the future.

As a result of your feedback, we’ll be creating a resource bank on this website for each of the Vision for Volunteering themes, including case studies. We’ll also be producing a toolkit for organisations or individuals to hold their own sessions locally about the Vision for Volunteering. We are also looking into opportunities for training, funding and further networking opportunities. Watch this space for updates soon!
